Steelhead are simply large rainbow trout that migrate from the freshwater to the ocean and back.  They can be found almost year round somewhere in Oregon.  Pound for pound these are some of the most exciting fighting fish you can get on a rod.

Do you like to eat Salmon?  Then by far these are the best eating salmon you will catch anywhere!  Springers are found in the Spring of the year throughout the Columbia and Willamette.  They are smaller than a Fall Chinook but what they make up in size they gain in table fare.

In Oregon we do get rain.  But thats ok because it makes the fish move,  and when the fish move then we can catch them.  Don’t be afraid to get a little wet,  its just part of the Oregon fishing experience.
